Retro Rose Records

Soul/ Smooth Jazz legends LEEE JOHN & BILL SHARPE have together joined forces in presenting a brand new forthcoming album "INTIMATE GLOW" and ahead of this see's a 3 track mix digital single release "Take Me Back" Feat the phenomenal Mark King from Level 42 on bass, and MEZZOFORTE's Fridrik Karlsson.

INTIMATE GLOW has been a long awaited smooth jazz music collaboration in the making, going way back to 2003 and the start of the initial recording of x 2 songs however, due to both Artists busy schedules only x1 song managed to see the light of day, the stunning "Fool in Love" included here in with x 2 versions, the already existing version from SHAKATAK album Blue Savannah (2003) and LEEE's mesmerizing solo vocal rendition on the song. Fast forward to present day, the "INTIMATE GLOW" album finally gets to see the light of day which will be released on February 23rd 2024, presenting x 10 beautifully crafted & "sophisticated smooth pop jazz" composed songs between two of the UK's iconic music industry legends from the soul/smooth jazz universe, LEEE JOHN & BILL SHARPE with both continuing to enjoy huge Intl level of success and career longevity rarely paralleled in contemporary music.

We have had to wait a full decade to experience more of the natural collaboration between Leee and Shakatak's Bill Sharpe. 2003's Fool in Love was the perfect combination of Leee's silky vocals with the iconic sound of Shakatak. This partnership sounds like it was always meant to be.

Intimate Glow sees the duo expressing themselves in a wide range of styles, from the solid groove of Double Dilemma, to the swinging acoustic jazz of Your Magic and So Cool & Easy.

If, like me your journey through soul and jazz has been influenced by the sound of Imagination and Shakatak, Intimate Glow will 'Take You Back to those 'ever loving yesterdays' (to use the song's words) when songs were crafted and polished. --Nigel Williams, Jazz FM
